Auchtertool Hub/Pub Update

Exciting news - The Tiel has been purchased on behalf of the village!

Auchtertool Community Trust (ACT) can now confirm that as of today, 16 April 2025, The Tiel (formerly The Kiwi) has passed into community ownership and will be developed as a multipurpose venue for the benefit of our village.

There will be a public meeting in the Village Hall on Tuesday 27 May at 7pm to share detailed information on the next steps. Updates will be shared on this website, on the Auchtertool Billboard (Facebook) and at the Drop-in Cafés.

In addition to providing the bulk of the funding for the purchase, the Scottish Land Fund (SLF) is covering the cost of a project manager, for one year, to support us. Transforming The Tiel into a community hub with plans for a cafe, shop, pub, restaurant is an exciting but challenging project. The services of a project manager with professional experience of guiding community projects like ours will be very valuable during these early stages.

The priority now is for the trustees of ACT to meet the project manager, discuss next steps and gather information to bring to the public meeting on 27 May.

The journey to obtain the funds from the SLF and then the process of purchasing The Tiel has been a long one. Now we can really look forward to developing and sharing this new and exciting resource.
